When Submitting a FOIA Request

Please identify what record, or parts of a record, that you are seeking as concisely as possible and describe the records in sufficient detail to enable the FLRA to locate the documents you are seeking. Please include a telephone number where you may be reached in case it is necessary to contact you to clarify your request.  For further information about what information is needed in a FOIA request, please see our FAQ.

FOIA gives you the right to access any FLRA records unless the information in those records is protected by one or more of the nine exemptions (reasons an agency may withhold records from a requester) that are part of the FOIA.

If you are seeking general information about the FLRA, you may wish to visit the FLRA's home page.  In addition, the information you are seeking may be available in the FLRA's electronic FOIA Reading Room, which you can access by clicking the "Electronic Reading Room" link at the bottom of this page.  You may also access the FLRA's electronic FOIA Reading Room from a computer terminal located in the library at FLRA headquarters at 1400 K Street, NW, Washington, DC.  You should submit requests to use this terminal to access the FLRA's Electronic Reading Room to the FLRA's Office of the Solicitor by mail (Office of the Solicitor, FLRA, 1400 K Street, NW, Washington, DC 20424), phone (771-444-5775), or email (solmail@flra.gov).

If the information you are seeking is not available in the FLRA's Electronic FOIA Reading Room or elsewhere on the agency's website, then you may need to submit a written FOIA request to the FLRA.

For further questions, contact one of the FOIA Contacts here.  Our responsibility is to provide you with copies of records you are entitled to receive under the law.  We want to work with you to achieve that goal.
