FLRA Announces July Training Programs in Washington, DC

The Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) announced today two FLRA training programs being offered in July. The first program is a FLRA case law update covering the most significant Authority decisions in 2010 and 2011. The 3-hour training program is offered twice on Tuesday, July 12, in a morning and afternoon session. The second program is the FLRA’s comprehensive 2-day arbitration training program, and is offered on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26-27. The arbitration training programs follow the October 2010 revisions to the FLRA’s regulations concerning the review of arbitration awards, and are another step in the FLRA’s efforts to make arbitration case processing more effective and efficient. The training addresses procedural and substantive matters involving the processing of arbitration awards before the Authority, ranging from filing and service requirements to legal standards that apply in the review of arbitration awards, including remedies. The training is intended for Federal agency and union practitioners who participate in the grievance arbitration process, as well as arbitrators who conduct hearings and issue awards resolving grievances in the Federal sector.  Registration information can be found here.
